Banana Pi to HY070CTP-HD LCD (LVDS/RGB)

Hi,

I am going to try and get the panel:

to work with the Banana Pi.

I nearly made a serious mistake and hopefully I can help anyone else who runs into a similar issue.

I was attempting to write up a pin->pin tables to connect the LVDS from:
http://www.bananapi.org/p/product.html (Banana Pi conn2)
to
http://www.hotmcu.com/7-inch-102 ... uch-panel-p-70.html (HY070CTP-HD)

And I noticed that the pin numbering scheme used by each might be totally different.

By looking at the diagram here on page 9:

The pins 1..40 from page 9 directly correspond to the HY070CTP-HD RGB pins as 1,3,5...39,2,4,6...40

Is it likely that the banana pi conn2 actually corresponds with this screens RGB input? I suspect it might because it is compatible with other A20 boards.

Are these both standard pin numbering schemes, or is one of these using an incorrect representation?

What do you mean? I referenced that in my post. I think the interfaces match for the screen and banana pi but the numbering is inconsistent. I haven't had a chance to test it.

As the numbering is no the same, you need a adapter board to change the numbering.

Yes I acknowledged that but am asking whether it could be a difference in the way they are counting the pins. The numbering matches if it happened to be written in a different format such as the following:

1- -8
2- -7
3- -6
4- -5

VS

1- -2
3- -4
5- -6
7- -8

Because it matches exactly for the 40 pins when translated I think it could be the nomenclature used for numbering the pins is different rather than the interface.

I'm just a layman I don't know much about this but since that is a possibility that's why I'm coming to the forum for help. An answer that answers the question could contain the following:

* A reason that they would not use a different pin numbering format
* That the banana pi uses a different wiring for RGB that differs in this way
* That other A20 boards are wired differently for RGB
* A way to safely test which way the pins should go

Not yet.

I'm waiting on a couple of these:

(breakout for the lvds/rgb connector) for further experimentation.

I didn't know about this kind of PCB with connectors. Great ! So you could test as soon as you will received it !

As it is a long time I'm waiting for touch screen LCD whose arrival is always postponed, I'm really interested about your tests. Waiting now that you tell us.

I think you want to this LCD in LVDS mode (?)
I tried to see what pin must be connected to, but some pins doesn't seems to be connected directly to con2 or missing...

1. For all kinds of display like LVDS, RGB, 8080.
2. It is can used for RGB, but still need an adapter board.
3 Other A20 board should also need an adapter board for different lcd display.
