Hello

I recently got my Banana Pi and really happy with it!

I've added an 3.5 Sata disk, which only is used as a data store. I need this drive to get mounted every time the Pi boots. So I've added this to the fstab:
  1. # MOUNTSCRIPTS
  2. UUID=9e8b932f-3395-4e35-99f1-a703b5e78bca  /sata ext4   uid=root,gid=root   0   0
Copy the Code
Using this wont work

What am I doing wrong?

Cheers
Josh

What do you get when you enter
  1. mount -v /sata
Copy the Code
as root?

mount -v /sata gave me this:
  1. mount: special device UUID=9e8b932f-3395-4e35-99f1-a703b5e78bca does not exist
Copy the Code

so what's the UUID then? This should mach the entry in fstab.
  1. blkid /dev/sda1
Copy the Code
(replace sda1 with the appropriate name of the partition)

  1. root@downloadpi ~ # blkid /dev/sda1
  2. /dev/sda1: LABEL="rootfs" UUID="9e8b932f-3395-4e35-99f1-a703b5e78bca" TYPE="ext4"
Copy the Code
Either I'm blind or I'm missing something out...

After trying it out again today I get this:
  1. root@downloadpi ~ # mount -v /sata
  2. mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sda1,
  3.        missing codepage or helper program, or other error
  4.        In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try
  5.        dmesg | tail  or so
Copy the Code
dmesg gave me this:
  1. EXT4-fs (mmcblk0p2): recovery complete
  2. EXT4-fs (mmcblk0p2): mounted filesystem with ordered data mode. O
  3. VFS: Mounted root (ext4 filesystem) on device 179:2.
  4. EXT4-fs (sda1): Unrecognized mount option "uid=0" or missing valu
  5. EXT4-fs (mmcblk0p2): recovery complete
  6. EXT4-fs (mmcblk0p2): mounted filesystem with ordered data mode. O
Copy the Code
Thanks for your help!

Tried so many different configurations and it finally worked!

This "code" worked, if any one else google's for the same problem
  1. UUID=9e8b932f-3395-4e35-99f1-a703b5e78bca       /sata   ext4    defaults        0       1
Copy the Code
