Every time before wirte the image, I will use SDFormatter to format the SD card.

Fedora 22:

Following the instructions from here: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/A ... .28Allwinner_A20.29

Using command:
  1. fedora-arm-installer --image=Fedora-Xfce-armhfp-22-3-sda.raw.xz --target=Bananapro --media=/dev/sdb --selinux=OFF
Copy the Code

There might be an error with the script, it could not find the u-boot file, so I changed the target to "Bananapi" instead:
  1. fedora-arm-installer --image=Fedora-Xfce-armhfp-22-3-sda.raw.xz --target=Bananapi --media=/dev/sdb --selinux=OFF
Copy the Code

It won't boot, only red light.

Debian:

Using the Debian image from Igor: http://www.igorpecovnik.com/2014/09/07/banana-pi-debian-sd-image/
  1. dd bs=1M if=Bananapi_Debian_3.2_jessie_4.1.2.raw of=/dev/sdb
Copy the Code

It won't boot, only red light.

I've also tried to write the image in Windows using Win32Diskimager, not working.

However, the images from Lemaker boot just fine, I've also tried the image from SimpleNAS(http://simplenas.com/download/banana-pro), it also works.

What am I doing wrong here?

Can Lemaker just update the Fedora image so that we can use Fedora 22 instead of Fedora 19 from years ago?

You can try what I did at http://www.lemaker.org/thread-17154-1-2.html

If you need the a FC22 image ...

Good new about Fedora 22 with my Banana Pro.

After I found out the board can boot without HDMI output or blinking lights, I tried Fedora several times, using the official methods and self compiled u-boot.

Using fedora-arm-image-installer with Bananpro won't boot because it can't find the u-boot file. Change the target to Bananpi can boot the board, and I got HDMI signal.

Using self compiled u-boot, the board booted but no HDMI signal. It seemed that the ssh service was not up, so no way to connect to the board.

Above is my current progress with Fedora 22.

Thanks for your help!

If you need the a FC22 image, let me know. I will have to figure out where to upload around 1.4G image though.

My images are tested  and they are working. Huh. Have you attached any console to it? HDMI or serial?

Thank you! I've read your post already, there were more steps involved, though. I will give it a try when I'm desperate.

I totally believe so. I've seen many people reporting success with your images.

However, my unfortunate Banana Pro just won't boot. I hope it's not a faulty one, it can boot some images.

I've tried HDMI, no output.

I'm stupid!

The red light means nothing. The board actually boots up, but the green light won't blink! I've just flashed Igor's image, ssh to the board. It worked!

Now I can have a good sleep!

I also learned that in OS X, I should use dd to /dev/rdisk1 instead of /dev/disk1. Million times faster.

https://wiki.debian.org/InstallingDebianOn/Allwinner   The page installation for Banana Pro should work.

Nice to hear that.

I also totally forgot to mention that leds are not configured (yet) the same way as on old kernel.

But it's strange that you don't get HDMI out? It's best that you have HDMI already attached when powering on.

Thanks for your help! Without those replies, I probably would just give up. Tried HDMI again, no signal. My monitor is a DELL UP2414Q, it's famous for its problematic HDMI and DP ports.  Post time Aug 12, 2015 00:41

Thank you, I will also give that a try.

So far, it seems most images are working, except the HDMI somehow won't give signal for some images.
