Hello,

I installed Bananian 15.04 on BPI-R1 board according to:

https://docs.google.com/document ... TvWwD_PArf_TZA/edit

Now Wifi works I can connect from my mobile to the wlan, get an IP address and access the web.

Now I wan't to set and check my settings but

> iw list

outputs

> nl80211 not found.

How can I install this driver? Is there a debian package?

Regards,
Bernhard

I think RTL8192CU driver in kernel 3.4 is not compatible with nl80211 extensions.

In any case you need to recompile the kernel if you need this but in fact you don't need if you only want to connect to router.

Can You Post Error Log

@BadrSoft

Nothing in /var/log/messages. I "greped" the whole log directory no entries with 80211.

@igorpec
I fear you are right. Here is one more link about nl80211 and hostapd:

https://wireless.wiki.kernel.org/en/users/Documentation/hostapd

If I understand it right nl80211 is no driver but an interface the "real" driver should implement isn't it so?

Is there a way to reduce and check txpower with bananian 15.04? iwlist also doesn't work.
