Latest kernel 3.16.0-rc7..

Hello,

I've spent whole day fighting with new kernel for my Banana which - I suppose - will add fully supported KVM hypervisor for ARM SoCs..
However, I stuck there how to do it correctly.
After downloading source:
linux-3.16-rc7.tar.xz

I've unpacked it to some directory and then:
apt-get install bzip2  build-essential kernel-package libncurses5-dev
cp /proc/config.gz /somedir/linux-3.16-rc7
gunzip /somedir/linux-3.16-rc7/config.gz
make menuconfig
after adding support for KVM I'm trying to build .DEB package for Lubuntu
fakeroot make-kpkg --initrd --append-to-version=-virt kernel_image kernel_headers kernel_modules

but if I try to install it I receive:

And installation hungs.

Even manually doing "make install" causes no change.. still booting 3.4.90 instead of 3.16.0.
So I would like to ask: is this even possible to run latest kernel on Banana ?

EDIT:
Well.. seems I need some patches.. according to this ..
But anyway, please note that current latest kernel version 3.4.90 doesn't contain KVM support for ARM, there is support only for AMD and Intel.
This feature also requires LPAE (Large Physical Address Extension), which is unavailable in 3.4.90 kernel source.

THREAD UPDATE:
It seems that KVM on ARM support has been added into 3.9 branch.

Got working serial cable (another thread http://forum.lemaker.org/2417-1- ... t_serial_cable.html)
and received following output for 3.16.0 kernel.
From one of the public forums:
...bootloader pass wrong machine ID to kernel and thats the reason why kernel couldn't start you machine.Please check bootloader code.


UPDATE:
After playing around with script.bin and boot.scr files.. got correct ID, however kernel doesn't boot

Not sure if this also applies for the Banana Pi (mine is not here yet), but for the Cubietruck (also A20) a new uboot was necessary to boot kernels >3.4
They used this one :
https://github.com/jwrdegoede/u-boot-sunxi/tree/next

(based on thistutorial from cubieforums)

Thanks, but it didn't worked..
I suppose same problem with reading kernel from MMC exists on FreeBSD version of u-boot-sunxi (see other thread @ http://forum.lemaker.org/2502-2-1-2.html)

But even if I've removed bridge from /etc/network/interfaces it's still asking for bridge...

u have to use dtb insteed of script.bin i running latest 3.18.3 and 3.19-rc5 as well. some problems with spi and wifi on pro but i think i'll fix this

Thanks, but I'm not using script.bin anymore, according to earlier post my current commands are:
boot.cmd (before converting to boot.scr)
setenv bootargs console=ttyS0,115200 sunxi_g2d_mem_reserve=0 sunxi_ve_mem_reserve=0 sunxi_no_mali_mem_reserve root=/dev/sda2 rootwait panic=10 ${extra}
        ext2load mmc 0 0x46000000 uImage
        ext2load mmc 0 0x49000000 sun7i-a20-bananapi.dtb
        env set fdt_high ffffffff
        bootm 0x46000000 - 0x49000000

I'm trying to start OS from /dev/sda2 partition, which is clone of current (working) system on /dev/mmcblk0p2 cause MMC is not recognized in my kernel.

I've questions:
1. what U-boot U're using? exacly download source?
2. do You have working /proc/config.gz from Your kernel
