The driver of the wireless module RTL8723BS is called RTL871x
The Realtek RTL8723BS is an SDIO 2.0/3.0 solution comprising WLAN, BT, and FM Receiver.
I didn't find the driver on the download site from RealTek, but
instead GitHub hadess  or GitHub Iwfinger

I have already sent messages to LeMaker because in Lemuntu the driver RTL871x does spam the:
less /var/log/syslog
less /var/log/messages
if I only connect the Ethernet and no wireless, it writes every 1,3 second:
  1. Oct 10 16:42:17 Lemuntu kernel: [   23.508254] RTL871X: nolinked power save leave
  2. Oct 10 16:42:17 Lemuntu kernel: [   24.110383] temp:43
  3. Oct 10 16:42:18 Lemuntu kernel: [   24.831513] RTL871X: nolinked power save enter
Copy the Code
This message will not stop and I have no overview over the log file.
Would be interesting to know if this happens on other distro than Lemuntu as well?

Bluetooth 4.0 - I have not touched yet. I will report back soon.

Beside that, I think it is major problem if I connect a monitor and no output.
My monitors (1280x1024) have DVI connection, so I bought a HDMI-DVI cable, but there is no output at all.
No command-line, no GUI - - just nothing on the screen.

I started to document it: Google Docs

Regarding your display issue. It's a common problem that EDID doesn't work with HDMI-to-DVI-adapters but EDID on the Guitar seems to be broken anyway. Your display will get 1920x1080@60Hz which might too much for it.

Do a "apt-get install device-tree-compiler" and change the resolution to "VID1280x720P_60_DVI" using the dtc tool and an editor in the kernel.dtb on the first partition.

/etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf)

Hi LeMaker Team,

This two are major PROBLEMS, together with USB3.
I hope you recognize that and work hard to find a solution !!
Will you tell us, if you work on it and expecting some progress?

I have a new problem with spaming the log-file, since I followed this tutorial it writes non-stop the
temperature into my syslog. May be just a configuration to change of LM-SENSORS, but for the moment = Spam

Please advise us as soon as possible

Thank you in advance

I have solution for HDMI-DVI cable output. When I got the board, I will try it and let you know.

Hi LeMaker Team,

This two are major PROBLEMS, together with USB3.

Hi, Tido
Thanks for your feedback.
The spaming temperature information has been remove from the linux kernel source, and you need to update the kernel with using the hwpack form the github at https://github.com/LeMaker/hwpack-actions

The Linux system don't support the resolution with 1280x1024 at present, and i think you can try to use 1280x720P. for more information about the HDMI resolution, please visit wiki at http://wiki.lemaker.org/LeMaker_Guitar:Configure_HDMI_resolution

If you have more needs , please feel free contact to us. We have planned to update the System Image which will fix these bugs in november.

Regarding your display issue. It's a common problem that EDID doesn't work with HDMI-to-DVI-adapters ...

For HDMI-DVI cable working, we should set these values below.
  1. hdcp_enable = 0
  2. hdmi_cts_compatibility = 1
Copy the Code

Hi,

I have continued my work on the BLUETOOTH connection. First of all, it works I can connect
my NEXUS 4 with the Guitar , but there is a drawback.
The bluetooth module is not automatically loaded at boot. You can also read that in the Wiki from Lemaker it says
on the 1. line: Load Bluetooth driver :-(

In my first posting in this thread I mentioned two driver sources and if you look after the download
from the wiki /or my manual into the source-files (readme) I think it says IwFinger.
So it seems this driver does not come from the Manufacturer - which puzzles me, if they bought the chip from RTL,
why don't they get a working driver?

So my problem is in chapter 4.2 /4.3 about how to load the bluetooth driver automatically?
Any tipps or hints are welcome

Edit 19:32:
root@Leguitar:~# modinfo /lib/modules/3.10.37/kernel/net/rfkill/rfkill-actions_8723bs.ko

If I do a modinfo on: modinfo wlan_8723bu
If I do a modinfo on: modinfo wlan_8723bs
I get a proper description  about the Module from: Realtek Semiconductor Corp.

As it looks like it is not properly loaded, it looks like it is loaded sideways with insmod.
modprobe -v wlan_8723bu
insmod /lib/modules/3.10.37/kernel/drivers/net/wireless/actions/rtl8723bu/wlan_8723bu.ko

Hi LeMaker Team,

Why do you suggest to take the Bluetooth driver from IwFinger?
Is there no driver from RealTek available or is there some other reason?

Thank you in advance for an explanation.
