No alaises on ssh session

I just realized that the bash aliases are not defined when I ssh into Bananian. They are defined when I log into the machine directly. This is different to Raspian, aliases are available when I use ssh. What's the difference between Bananian and Raspbian that keeps the aliases from being used on a ssh session?

The reason is this:

Q: Why zsh as the default shell?
A: Because zsh rocks! Just give it a try. Still want bash as the default? Type: 'chsh -s /bin/bash'
