I have external USB to SATA drive that I tried to upgrade today from 2TB to 4TB. First thing I did was run fdisk-l to see the drive was seen by the OS. First thing I see is -
Disk /dev/sda: 1801.8 GB, 1801763774464 bytes, 3519069872 sectors

Kind of not expecting that since it is 4TB after all, expecting at least see 4000.8 GB.

Then I do the following;
parted /dev/sda
mklabel gpt
unit TB
mkpart primary 0.00TB 4.00TB
Error: The location 4.00TB is outside of the device /dev/sda.

This didn't surprise me the error as I kind of expected this. The OS or device just does not see this as capable of 4TB it seems

I don't know what to do next. I don't know if this is the drive, the USB to SATA adapter, or the OS (CentOS 7.2.1511). The adapter is an old Buffalo USBv1, the drive is brand new Seagate 4TB 5900, and the OS is 4.2.3-200.el7.armv7hl. I seen another post here and know 4TB drive should work with the Pi M1.
