BananaPi and SATA hard drive issues

2 1695
Hey all,

I've had my BananaPi for just over a year, and I've been using it as an ownCloud server by attaching a hard drive via SATA.  It works great for about a month at a time, then the BPi stops reading the drive.  I have to connect the drive to my desktop, manually wipe, move my ownCloud files back on and then reconnect, where it works until next month.  I had more than a few family tragedies the last half of 2015, so I mostly forgot about it until recently and I'd like to figure out what the problem is.

Could anyone help me troubleshoot this?

Here's what my syslog says (this repeats ad nauseum):

Really?!  The SATA cable?  Well, I guess I'll try that and see what comes of it.

Thanks for the input.  Really appreciate it!
