Hi all,
it's a week that I try to fix a problem on my bananian.
After an "sudo apt-get update" and "sudo apt-get upgrade" I have this error and a "sudo apt-get -f install" can't fix it.
here it is:
**********
Unpacking linux-image-3.4.112-bananian (16.04.03) over (16.04.02) ...
dpkg: error processing archive /var/cache/apt/archives/linux-image-3.4.112-bananian_16.04.03_armhf.deb (--unpack):
unable to make backup link of `./boot/System.map-3.4.112-bananian' before installing new version: Operation not permitted
dpkg-deb: error: subprocess paste was killed by signal (Broken pipe)
**********
I can't find a solution and googling around it seams a problem on trying to make a symbolic link on vfat (/boot partition) that doesn't support it.
Can anyone help me?
TIA

Solved!
Because the dpkg can't create a symbolic link on the vfat filesystem the only (manual) way to let it install the kernel update is to rename the (old) kernels files
System.map-3.4.112*
config-3.4.112*
initrd.img-3.4.12*
and vmlinuz-3.4.112*
cd /boot
sudo mv vmlinuz-3.4.112-bananian vmlinuz-3.4.112-bananian-old (and so on)
after that the
sudo apt-get -f install
perfectly works.
After that
sudo rm *-old
sudo reboot
Thanks a lot to ....... ME!
