Hi everyone,

I'm super newbie at linux and this is my first SBC.

I need to help about changing screen resolution.

I'm using HDMI-to-VGA adapter. It runs correctly with my notebook but not in 1920x1080. So, I have to change resolution and I tried "xrandr" method. But it fails at the last command, "xrandr: Configure crtc 0 failed"
I want to make it 1280 x 720px but I couldn't. Can someone help me?

Thanks a lot and sorry for my bad English.
Ps. Using eMMC, HDMI-to-VGA adapter, Ubuntu Mate image, and
xrandr response;
xrandr: Failed to get size of gamme for output default.
Screen 0: minimum 1280 x  720, current 1920 x 1080, maximum 1920 x 1080
default connected 1920x1080+0+0 0mm x 0mm
   1920x1080     60.00*
   1280x720_60.00    60.58
cat /sys/devices/b02c0000.hdmi/vid response;
16

fbset -xres 1280 -yres 720 response;
Everything is getting into each other on display.

I add that to rc.local

fbset -g 1024 768 1024 768 32 -t 15385 160 24 29 3 136 6

and xrandr response;

Screen 0: minimum 1024 x 768, current 1024 x 768, maximum 1024x768
default connectec 1024x768+0+0 0mm x 0mm
1024x768 0.00*

But, my monitor says H: 67.5kHz V:60.0Hz, and can't fit to the screen.

I guess, i had to make changes on DTS files but idk how can I. Can someone tell me that step by step how to on SBC terminal?

Hi, Cemre
The guitar support resolution self-adaption of HDMI, connect to your monitor before boot your system, then use "xrandr" command to check the resolution. If you want to modify the resolution by yourself, you have to modify the dts files, for more information, please visit the wiki at http://wiki.lemaker.org/LeMaker_ ... ructions_on_display

You need download the kernel source code and than compile to get the DTC tool. You can search the "DTB to DTS" in google

Yes, you need a Gnu/Linux PC (Eg: Ubuntu).
Firstly, edit the dts of uboot and kernel, and update the "hdmi: hdmi@b02c0000" node with you want to set resolution. For more information, please refer to the link above.
Secondly, compile with the source code, for more tutorials, please refer to http://wiki.lemaker.org/LeMaker_ ... _LeMaker_Guitar_BSP
Thirdly, refer to the link which be mentioned at "First step" and update the "kernel.dtb" and "u-boot-dtb.img" of the Ubuntu Mate.

I did the instructions which is written at http://wiki.lemaker.org/LeMaker_ ... _LeMaker_Guitar_BSP

I wrote "make hwpack" and it is compiling somethings, i think. But, it takes so long. Can you give example about how long will it take? (I'm still waiting and passed 100+ mins)

I think you do not need to compile the whole source code. You only need compile the uboot and the DTB in the kernel, then replace the uboot and the DTB.

If you have download the whole source code, my PC is 4CPU and 8GB memory, only take less than 30minutes.

But for the first time, it will download the source code from the GitHub, this depends on the download speed.

Hello again.

I installed Ubuntu 16.04 to my PC.

I wrote "make hwpack".

At the "resolving delta bla bla" stage, system shut down.

I did it twice and same result. What can be my problem?

and, how can I compile just kernel and u-boot but others?

ps. I installed the ubuntu and went to instructions page, wrote commands. Nothing else...
