Strange Issues with camera module

Hi to all,

I'm back having some fun with my camera module. I've noticed a strange behaviour.
The installation works well, I'm using Banana Pi with Raspbian image (taken from here).
Under X (lxde), if I use VLC to connect to local device /dev/video0, I can get a working connection on the camera with current stream. Until here all ok.
But if I use 'motion' (installed via apt-get) or 'mjpg_streamer' (compiled via GitHub) and try to open their webserver, the stream has a very strange behaviour.
The first image captured on the camera as soon the service starts, becomes a frame seen in loop every 1-2 second(s).
I.e. I turn the service on and I've an object in the middle. The stream shows me the object correctly. As soon I move the object, you can see the object moving, but every 1-2 seconds a frame appear showing me the object in the middle. The result is in a flickering video, showing me what happen in front of the camera but with those frames of a still first image in loop.
Ideas why?



Ok, at the end seems more a palette issue.
Now with motion works good.
Does someone has best settings on motion to get good quality image?
I'm using 'v4l2_palette 8' (YU12) in (1280x720)

The quality is not so good anyway.




some more news.
I've noticed that using a resolution of 640x480 i got a good bightness (image/stream is clean) but I've the flickering effect. If I use a resolution of 1280x720, the stream is OK (no flickering with still image) but the stream/image is very dark!
