Hi all,
I am able to set the mode of wlan0 to Managed or Master, but I get this error when I try to set it to Monitor:

  1. iwconfig wlan0 mode Monitor
  2. Error for wireless request "Set Mode" (8B06) :
  3.     SET failed on device wlan0 ; Invalid argument.
Copy the Code

iwconfig wlan0:
  1. wlan0     unassociated  Nickname:"<WIFI@REALTEK>"
  2.           Mode:Managed  Frequency=2.412 GHz  Access Point: Not-Associated
  3.           Sensitivity:0/0
  4.           Retry:off   RTS thr:off   Fragment thr:off
  5.           Encryption key:off
  6.           Power Management:off
  7.           Link Quality=0/100  Signal level=0 dBm  Noise level=0 dBm
  8.           Rx invalid nwid:0  Rx invalid crypt:0  Rx invalid frag:0
  9.           Tx excessive retries:0  Invalid misc:0   Missed beacon:0
Copy the Code

I am using Banianan Linux with this driver:
  1. readlink /sys/class/net/wlan0/device/driver
  2. ../../../../../../bus/usb/drivers/rtl8192cu
Copy the Code

Was wondering if Monitor mode is supported or if I would need to use a seperate usb wifi adapter instead?

Thank you
