The Cleveland Browns went for broke on Friday, engineering a trio of trades to bring in three-time Pro Bowl receiver Jarvis Landry from the Miami Dolphins, quarterback Tyrod Taylor from the Buffalo Bills and cornerback Damarious Randall from the Green Bay Packers.|
but the Browns' stalwart offensive tackle Joe Thomas didn't let that stop him from giving his review of the moves.,The trades can't be formally announced until Wednesday
Whether he joins them on the field next season remains to be seen. The 10-time Pro Bowl selection reportedly told ESPN in an email his "decision will be based purely on my health."
Thomas missed games for the first time in his pro career last season after suffering a torn left triceps tendon in Week 7. He had played an NFL-record 10,363 consecutive snaps before the injury, making 167 straight starts dating back to his first game as a rookie.
Thomas posted an "emergency" episode of his ThomaHawk podcast on Saturday, just hours before his brother's wedding, and gave the team high marks for the acquisitions, especially for Taylor.
but with that being said,"I hate when people make comparisons,Womens Leonard Williams Jersey, according to Cleveland.com.,Authentic Bo Jackson Jersey, it's time for a comparison. (Taylor) reminds me a little bit of Russell Wilson, one of the best in the game. (Taylor can) operate an offense and run it efficiently,Womens Howie Long Jersey, be able to make plays, extend plays with his feet,Authentic Derek Carr Jersey, (who) throws an incredible deep ball, make a lot of great decisions when he's in the pocket," Thomas said on his podcast
"I said that the Browns should be trading for Tyrod Taylor. Many weeks ago I thought he was the most underrated player that might be available at quarterback and lo and behold it seems like John Dorsey must be a big ThomaHawk fan."
The 28-year-old Taylor passed for 2,799 yards, 14 touchdowns and four interceptions last season. He had been Buffalo's starter for the majority of the past three seasons and threw for 8,857 yards, 51 touchdowns and 16 interceptions while also rushing for 14 touchdowns in that time.
Cleveland is sending a third-round pick (No. 65 overall) to the Bills for Taylor.
He also seemed excited about Landry's potential impact on the offense.
"You pair (Landry) with Corey Coleman and then a deep threat like Josh Gordon, that offense all of a sudden got really much more dangerous," Thomas said.
the first player to catch 400 passes over his first four NFL seasons.,Authentic Joe Namath Jersey,Cleveland reportedly gave up two draft picks -- a fourth-rounder in the 2018 draft and a seventh-round pick in 2019 -- for Landry
Landry, 25,Authentic Leonard Williams Jersey, reportedly signed his franchise tag with the Dolphins on Thursday and is slated to earn about $16 million this season unless the Browns work toward a long-term contract. The two sides are discussing a new contract,Womens Bo Jackson Jersey, and a deal is expected to be reached,Authentic Howie Long Jersey, according to ESPN.
"Bringing in a guy like Damarious Randall,Authentic Khalil Mack Jersey, who maybe had a little bit of a checkered past with some character problems,Womens Khalil Mack Jersey,locker-room problems in Green Bay, Hue (Jackson) is exactly the right coach to have to be able to help that player blossom into the type of player he can be based on his potential and the talent level,Womens Joe Namath Jersey,'' Thomas said of the team's move on the defensive side.
Randall, 25, intercepted four passes last season and has nabbed 10 in three NFL campaigns. He has returned two for scores,Womens Derek Carr Jersey, one in 2015 and one last season.
