I built a small server. It has two steel shelves that slide in to the box (10usd from aliexpress)

On one of these I mounted the Pi and the other a SSD.

I also added a power socket and on/off button

here is the box, its £10 not 10 USD.

I had the two pieces of metal custom cut for me, from some metal fabricators on eBay. This was £3 for both of them.

I had to a fair bit of drilling/filing and soldering to get to here.

Hey,
That looks really nice!
How did you do the power button? Does your button just push the regular button, or is there a cable attached to the board somewhere?

The power socket, push button switch and led are all "inline" so to speak. Inside they all join to one cable that terminates with a micro USB that plugs in to the board. Not ideal, I know as this is not the preferred way to turn it off and on.

However I do plan to use it as a headless server so will hardly ever turn it off..
