XMBC ?

Hi,
I would like to setup my Pi as a multimedia device. Is there an OS that has XMBC  built in and works out of the box for Banana Pi?
I also need it to connect to my NAS and network drive.

I am using Windows 8.1 x64 on my main PC to build the SD card installs.

Thanks,
Paddy

Short answer YES XMBC runs but its not hardware accelerated so NO HD.
I have it working using Android.

Most of my stuff is HD (MKV,MP4 etc).  I cannot get Android to install on SD using Phoenix card, it always errors during install.  What process did you use to install Andriod?
To clarify you have XMBC working in non HD mode on Android?
Do you know of any other multimedia players that will play HD on BP .
Thanks.

To clarify you have XBMC working in non HD mode on Android?
Yes I do.  I had to use the nightly build of XBMC to get it to be stable. The original version was not very stable.

MX Player will play in hardware accelerated mode. So i
Tried it on my sample HD file and it was fine. XBMC I am sorry to say can not play HD files because it lacks acceleration.

Thank you for your response. I'll look for a HD player for BPi.
Did you manage to get the Audio on HDMI to work? I get no sound.

Audio works. You have to select it from the settings.
I cant remember at this moment.
