BPi getting very hot

Hi,

i better ask because my first BPi was dead because of too high temp....

Is it normal that "L9" is getting very hot (+60°C) [on the bottom of BPi, near the sd card slot, round and gray, label is on top left]?
My PMU [on the left of "L5" / next to the SATA Connector, labeled AXP209] also get's hot (+50°C), that's what died on my first BPi.

Are such high temparatures normal, even on boot?

You should check the power consumption and ensure air flow. The AXP209's temperature scales linearly with peripherals that have to be powered by the BPi.

Unfortunately all available enclosures are totally crappy regarding thermal issues (all the hot stuff on Banana Pi/Pro on the lower side of the PCB and enclosure vendors do not allow any heat dissipation due to insufficient air flow and recommending to operate the Banana in the wrong direction).
