How to connect PCF8563 RTC Board module to Banana Pi

9 3898
Hello,

i´ve got an RTC Board module PCF8563.

The assignment off the RTC module doesn´t fit with the Banana Pi.

How can i connect each pin do the correct pin of the GPIO CON3 connector?

Is there a way to do this with cables or is there a other way to connect the RTC module?

Where can i get such cables?

You should post a link to the board you have, so we can tell what kind of cables you need.

You need to hook up:

3v3
GND
SDA
SCL

then insert the kernel module for the PC8563

Hello,

thanks for the reply.

This is the link to the RTC Board:

See:

http://wiki.bananapi.org/index.php/Bananapi_pin_definition
http://www.wvshare.com/product/PCF8563-RTC-Board.htm  (thanks for the link)

You need to hook up:

BPi to RTC
3.3V to Vcc
GND to GND
SDA to SDA
SCL to SCL

See the wiki connector link above for the pin numbers on the Banana Pi 26 pin connector.

Thanks for your answer.

Do you have an idea where to get such cables to connect the pins individually?

Or is there a bridge or something to connect the board directly?

Thanks for your answer.

Do you have an idea where to get such cables to connect the pins individual ...

Look on Ebay (and web stores) for Dupont female-female wires.

You will not find a direct cable as the pins are in a different order at the two ends.

Thank you for your answer.

Can you tell me which Kernel Modul i have to use?

We are using Ubuntu 14.04.

Thanks

Hi,

Google "ubuntu pcf8536 kernel module", I am not using Ubuntu on my BPi's.

Raspbian, at least on the RPi's, comes with a pcf8563.so kernel module - I used it with

http://www.mikronauts.com/raspberry-pi/pi-rtc-dio/

I hope to qualify Pi Rtc Dio for use with the Banana Pi this weekend.

Thanks for your reply

We are running Lubuntu 3.1.1 (http://www.lemaker.org/resources/9-76/lubuntu_for_bananapi.html) instead of Ubuntu

We searched for a kernel module but can´t finde one.

Do you have an idea where to get?

Thanks
A. Wagner

it should be somewhere in

http://www.raspbian.org/RaspbianRepository

given that Raspbian includes that kernel module.

Hope this helps,

Bill
