Banana Pi Serial Port To TV RS232 Port

2 4487
I would like to obtain some information on how I could create a connection from the banana pi to a rs-232 serial port on a television.

I am needing the pi to be able to send serial codes to control the TV.  Can anyone tell me what port or pins specifically on the pi I would use?  Also would I just pin that out to a DB9?  Would that be the powered rs-232 pinout or unpowered?  Any information regarding the necessary hardware, software, pinouts to create this connection, would be greatly appreciated!  Thank you.

You could use the CON3 uart pins on the Pi.
Look here (post#6)  for pin numbers : http://forum.lemaker.org/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=2937

For uart to RS232 conversion you'll have to build around the ubiquitous MAX232 chip.

Hi, is there any Konfiguration needed before I can user for example UART 7 at J12 AS ttyS3 on my BananaPi? I connected a TTL to RS232 Adapter but can't get it to work.
