JubitOS (Jubito Operating System) is a Lubuntu based distribution for Banana Pi and is available for download. It is an out of the box compilation and it contains all the ingredients for a home automation server/hub. A native system that comes with all the dependencies required, plus some extra features that could be useful, like festival speech synthesis system and cmu_us_slt_arctic female voice package. The image is approximately 3.7GB, so, a 4GB SD card and higher is recommended.

Mono is pre installed and mono is not microsoft. Consider the environment just like java. Why java should be installed and mono not

Unless you're not comfortable with C# syntax I don't see any other reason to disapprove. The fact that designed and developed by microsoft, it doesn't make it a bad language. I'm a developer and I can give a full analysis about my point but this would be out of topic. So I suggest you, to have a look at this sources:

I'm trying to integrate z-wave.me RaZberry module to the Banana Pro. Still no luck but I'll post updates if any progress ;)
